Andrew (Andy) Hecht is an experienced corporate lawyer, entrepreneur, and he is the managing partner of Strix. Prior to founding Strix in 2013 as Hecht Law PC, Andy was a corporate and securities lawyer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a leading international law firm, based in the firm’s offices in New York, Tokyo and Palo Alto. Andy represents all manner of businesses, from startups seeking to make their first deal, to major investment banks, private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He has worked on countless corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, public and private financings, securities offerings, minority investments and joint ventures.
Andy’s passion is working with entrepreneurs and building solid foundations to support their enthusiasm. Before studying law, he was a successful software developer who took on numerous challenges throughout the dot-com era. Among other things, Andy worked on the development of an early-AI controlled aquaculture farm, helped design and build the enterprise servers that became the initial backbone of the online bill payment industry, and developed speech recognition-based trader workstations to enable stock traders to engage in high speed hands-free trading. Andy also co-founded one of the first crowdfunding platforms to launch after the passage of the JOBS Act. In his spare time, Andy is an active outdoorsman and environmentalist. He has provided pro bono legal representation to environmental organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and around the United States. Andy speaks, reads and writes Spanish and speaks conversational Japanese. He is admitted to practice law in the States of California and New York. Andy holds a B.A in Asian Languages & Civilizations from Amherst College, a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law and a M.E.M. in Environmental & Resource Economics from Duke University – Nicholas School of the Environment.
Simon Cragg

Simon Cragg is a corporate attorney at Strix. Prior to joining Strix, Simon was a senior associate in the London and New York offices of leading international law firm Arnold & Porter LLP, and later traded oil and index futures on his own account. Simon is dual-qualified, admitted in New York and England, with extensive experience in public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters.
Simon advises on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial agreements, and has worked on numerous securities offerings and cross-border transactions. Simon counsels clients from a variety of industries including technology, life sciences and financial services. Simon holds an LL.B. (Hons.) in law from the University of Sussex and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from The College of Law, London. When not practicing law he enjoys racing mountain bikes, skiing and snowboarding.

Cristina White is a corporate attorney at Strix. Prior to joining Strix, Cristina was a corporate associate in the Silicon Valley office of Goodwin Procter LLP where her practice focused on startups, corporate governance, and securities law. She provides strategic legal counsel to clients, navigates complex regulatory landscapes and facilitates seamless transactions.
Cristina is admitted to practice law in California. Cristina holds a B.A. in History from Santa Clara University and a J.D. from Berkeley Law. Outside of work, Cristina enjoys exploring the vibrant streets of San Francisco on sunny days and immersing herself in the city’s rich culture and diverse offerings.
Marty Roberts

Martin (Marty) Roberts is a corporate and intellectual property attorney with many years of in-house experience. His practice focuses primarily on assisting startups with general legal advice including contracting and corporate matters. He has been the general counsel of five startups with various business models including advertising-based, subscription-based and software-as-a-service. He joined the startups to assist with the establishment of appropriate contracts, controls and systems to enable their growth and a successful exit.
Marty most recently served as general counsel of Treasury Prime, a provider of software to connect fintechs to banks. Previously he served as general counsel and then CEO of patent risk management solutions provider RPX, as general counsel of Shopping.com, as deputy general counsel of eBay, and as general counsel of Linden Lab, the creator of Second Life. He has a B.A. in English from University of Virginia, and a J.D. from University of Alabama School of Law.
Ashley Morgan

Ashley is the office manager for Strix and provides paralegal services. She has been working with Strix since its inception.
Ashley has been involved with startups and small businesses for almost two decades. She was a co-founder for Guided Yoga. She is also the founder and active contributor to the Cabrillo Art Cave, a neighborhood pop-up art gallery featuring artists from the San Francisco bay area.
Ashley holds a BA in Asian Languages and Civilizations from Amherst College and a MA in education from Duke University. Ashley speaks Spanish, French and conversational Japanese. Her hobbies include singing with the SF Symphony Chorus, gardening and cats.
